Why are Coton de Tulears so expensive?
Share
Hello everyone!
This is Coton Kennel BONCO, a specialized kennel for Coton de Tulear.
We've noticed a surge in popularity for Cotons lately, and we're always grateful for your interest.
Many of our potential clients, while captivated by the Coton's adorable appearance, often ask, "Why are they so expensive?" Today, I'd like to shed some light on the reasons behind the Coton de Tulear's higher price tag.
Hailing from Madagascar, the Coton de Tulear is a rare breed and the national dog of Madagascar. Their small population and limited litter sizes (typically 2-4 puppies) contribute to their rarity.
While some breeders may push for larger litters, we at Coton Kennel BONCO prioritize the health of both the mother and puppies, resulting in smaller, healthier litters.
Despite the limited supply, the demand for Cotons continues to grow. This imbalance between supply and demand naturally drives up prices.
It's important to be cautious of excessively low-priced Cotons, as they may not be purebred. Since Cotons are part of the Bichon family, puppies can sometimes be difficult to distinguish from Bichons or Maltese at a young age.
Always ask for a pedigree and carefully examine it. For the most reliable source, we recommend purchasing from a reputable, specialized kennel like ours.
Coton Kennel BONCO has been breeding and shipping Cotons for many years, building a strong reputation for honesty and reliability. We maintain close relationships with our clients, providing ongoing support and information. Pedigrees are available for all our puppies.
Thank you for your interest in Coton de Tulears. This is Coton Kennel BONCO.
